Vintana Happy Birthday Lunch

Thanks brother (Charles Rufi) for my birthday lunch at the Vintana in Escondido.

Penthouse fine dining in the Lexus Centre has New American cuisine, modern decor & town views.  Very yummy - reasonable - but be sure to make a reservation.

Oma’s Happy Birthday Car
2015 Hyundai Tucson Limited FWD

This 2015 Hyundai Tucson compact crossover SUV gives established players a solid run for their money in style, technology and fuel economy. Oma’s new treasure is the Front Wheel Drive version. It comes with plenty of high-tech features; a long list of standard equipment at an impressively competitive price, and Most-Importantly Hyundai's industry-leading 10-year/100,000-mile warranty

Oma found her Tucson to supply surprisingly responsive handling. Coupled with the vehicle’s firm suspension, it is fun to drive on all kinds of roads. It’s compact size makes it super easy to maneuver into tight parking lots or in city traffic.

Interior

The Hyundai Tucson offers wide doors and a low floor, making it easy for its five passengers to get in and out. Once inside, the nicely textured and designed interior panels are easy on the eyes, even if they are mostly hard plastic. All the interior's controls are easy to reach and use, and the upscale feel of the beveled window switches is especially nice. The nicely shaped driver's seat is almost as supportive as it looks, but despite the reclining seat-backs, rear-seat passengers might find the low seat cushion height, sloping roof and small windows claustrophobic.

Exterior

Despite its utility mission, the 2015 Hyundai Tucson is anything but boxy. Its styling looks downright European, with a sculpted hood, aggressive 2-tier grille and wraparound headlights. From the side, the vehicle's aerodynamic shape includes a steeply raked windshield and sloping roof-line with rear spoiler. On SE and Limited models, the silver roof rails do double duty: They help accentuate the flowing lines of the vehicle and also carry cargo. This year, Limited models get standard LED taillights.

Oma’s Limited models adds a panoramic sunroof, navigation system and an upgraded audio system. The Popular Equipment Package dresses up this ride with a rear-view camera, power driver's seat and Leatherette on the seat bolsters.

Kuuk Mini Pull Chopper #MiniPullChopper

This chopper works like a mini food processor. It is perfect for smaller ingredient preparation! It is very light and compact. Also since you do not need batteries or electricity to operate, it makes a great gift for anyone with a motor-home or to use for an outdoor cookout.

I use mine to make myself fresh salad for lunch.

The container and lid are constructed of a study plastic. I love that you can control the finest of your chop (course to puree) by the number of “pulls.” The container is dishwasher safe but the lid should be hand washed only.

Product Description

Now you can easily make all manner of sauces, dips, dressings and more in your kitchen-no electricity required! Fill this hand food chopper with veggies, nuts, fruit or the ingredient of your choice, pull the ring, and you will have a delicious addition to your next meal.

Make salsa, guacamole, hummus, and more in seconds!

Life is busy, and we don't always have time to spend on chopping fine ingredients. That's why Kuuk is providing an easy solution with its mini hand pull chopper. Those difficult, time consuming dishes just became easy, as you pull the ring to create your recipe of choice in mere seconds!

Store your mixes in the fridge

With the convenient storage lid included with the Kuuk hand food processor, you can easily store your creations in the fridge for later use. The bowl of the chopper acts just like a Tupperware container, so you can simply place the lid on top and keep it like any other leftover.

No batteries or power needed

Easily create delicious sauces and dips-without the need for electricity. This makes this hand food processor ideal for camping, small kitchens, or trips in the RV. Chopping by hand isn't difficult, as the razor-sharp stainless-steel blades do all the work for you.

Dishwasher safe bowl and washes easily by hand

The bowl can go safely in the dishwasher, and will emerge un-warped and as good as new. Alternatively, you can just as easily wash the bowl by hand in the sink with warm soapy water. For the lid with pulling mechanism just wipe clean with a damp cloth.
  • Chop nuts, veggies, fruit and more easily with the Mini-Hand-Pull-Chopper. One pull chops 16 times
  • Perfect for travelling, camping, or RVs-no electricity needed

Oma's Second Annual Birthday Casino Crawl

Oma started her Second Annual Valley Center Birthday Casino Crawl at the Valley View Casino.  Although they claim to be Southern California's luckiest casino, offering a world-class gaming experience complete with innovative slot machines, thrilling table games, the most rewarding Players Club around, Oma was not so lucky.  She entered the casino with $60 and lost it all.

Although, we frequent this casino at least monthly, Oma's birthday bonus was just $20. (After only visiting the Pala Casino twice since her last birthday, Pala provided Oma with a birthday bonus of $30 dining credit)

Harrah's Casino was the second stop on this trip.  They really do live up to their claim of being more of the 'Vegas-style action.'  The casino is gorgeous.  While there were no special birthday bonuses here, Oma entered the building with $60 in her pocket yet left an hour and a half later with $85 in hand!

Pala Casino Spa & Resort was Oma's final destination.  Unfortunately, although Oma had made reservations a month in advance for a facial at the spa, and confirmed that appointment the night before, there was a mix-up and Oma's appointment was "canceled."  It was a very disappointing turn to this casino crawl.

However, after some unwanted drama, Oma was offered a free twenty-minute neck and head massage.  After the nice massage, the manager apologized and presented Oma with a gift certificate for a future facial.  It made the situation a bit better.

Pala Casino offered Oma a $30 food credit which was put to good use at the Sushi Sake Restaurant.

Sushi Sake - Enjoy the honored Japanese tradition of sushi with a Southern California flair at Sushi Sake.
This restaurant offers great service and wonderful sushi.  Oma ordered the Sushi Platter: The freshest tuna, salmon, yellowtail, whitefish, albacore and shrimp served with a California roll or spicy tuna roll AND  Unagi - Fresh Water Eel with her dining credit.

Oma highly recommend Sushi Sake for all Sushi Lovers.

It was almost time for Oma to end her Second Annual Birthday Casino Crawl.  However, I decided to play a few more slots first.

Oma was pleased she did as she won a minor jackpot of $185!  All in all, this second annual birthday casino crawl ended up costing only $15!!!

Sunday Breakfast

Opa and Coast at breakfast.  Isn't Coast a cutie. He is already getting use to his strange new world. He will be a month old on the 19th.

Eat your vegetables Reef. Oma is pleased to announce with a stern look from his father - Reef managed to eat this paltry portion of nutrition and went happy on to his reward of French Fries!
