Our KOA Kampground was right by Sleeping Ute Mountain. Ute Mountain overlooks the sage-covered plain near Cortez, Colorado. The Sleeping Ute is said to resemble a Ute Chief lying on his back with arms folded across his chest. The mountains were valued as a sacred place by the Weeminuche Ute band. It is still a sacred place to their descendants, the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe and still plays a role in their ceremonies as indicated by the “Sundance Ground” on some topographical maps nestled between The Knees and Horse Peak (ribcage). #KOACamping #travelphotography ##campinglife #travels #colorado @onlytravelforfun

This moon is visible during daylight hours in the Arizona landscape. The best time to look at the moon during the daylight hours are during the first and last quarter of the cycle. That is when the moon is 90° away from the sun. This is the perfect positioning of the moon during its cycle so that it isn't too far or too close. #goinghome #California #travels #travelphotography #arizona #campinglife .
